Experience
Head of Professional Services & Senior Bioinformatician · Biorelate Ltd.
June 2021 – present · United Kingdom (Manchester)
- Built and lead the Professional Services team at Biorelate. I set the strategy, hire the team, and own client outcomes.
- Run client onboarding, training, and product trials. Make sure people actually use what we ship and get real value out of it.
- Lead bespoke consultancy engagements, applying Biorelate’s NLP, knowledge graph, and biomedical AI stack to whatever the client’s actual problem is.
- Help close deals. I work alongside Sales and Business Development on technical scoping, demos, and discovery.
- Sit between Product and clients. The PS team is one of Product’s loudest internal voices on what’s working and what isn’t.
Selected client and product work
- Lead engineer on Biorelate’s Professional Services internal biomedical AI agent tooling: agent orchestration, memory, evaluation, and biomedical tool-use over a curated knowledge graph. Built first for the PS team to deliver client work faster and more reproducibly, with full provenance and programmatic citation. Now integrated into large-pharma clients’ own internal LLM and tech stacks, so they get agentic biomedical reasoning natively where their data already lives.
- Led delivery of a target safety assessment app for a life-sciences pharma client. Knowledge-graph and LLM-driven evidence retrieval, programmatic citation, regulator-ready outputs.
- Designed and ran a Langdock integration evaluation for Biorelate: scoping, validation, and integration patterns for using Langdock as a managed-AI platform alongside our own stack.
Selected achievements
- Built the Professional Services function from zero. Consistent client satisfaction and renewals to date.
- Helped secure £400K+ in new client contracts through technical scoping, demos, and discovery alongside Sales and Business Development.
- Contributed to over £1M in annual sales.
- Built strong working relationships across Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Product, and Data Science.
Data Scientist · Grid Edge
January 2021 – June 2021 · United Kingdom
- Worked with the data-science team on ML products. Delivered on time, on budget, on spec.
- Built ML models for multivariate time-series forecasting that worked when clients only had a small amount of data to train on.
- Key achievement: built an EDA and ML web application in Streamlit (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyCaret, Prophet, MLflow, Docker) so the team could explore, clean, and track time-series experiments without leaving the browser.
Chief Technology Officer (interim, head-hunted) · Mindwave Ventures (later rebranded as Claryon Systems after my tenure)
August 2019 – February 2020 · London, UK · UK & India
Head-hunted by the CEO to take a CTO-level role spanning Mindwave’s UK and India engineering teams. NHS-focused digital-health delivery.
- Ran and mentored a development team in India. Set engineering standards, established code-review practice, and a regular working rhythm with the UK product and delivery side.
- Worked with NHS stakeholders and the UK team to turn clinical and operational requirements into architectures, backlogs, and implementation plans the engineering team could ship against.
- Led containerisation and Docker security for NHS-facing platforms: secure network design, container hardening, and deployment pipelines fit for UK healthcare security expectations.
- Tightened communication between UK client-facing colleagues and the engineering team in India. Less requirements ambiguity, faster delivery on NHS and related digital-health work.

- Built bioinformatics pipelines for genomic and transcriptomic analysis, including drug-repurposing pipelines using public and private datasets.
- Ran a small Core Bioinformatics service that took Illumina SNP and expression-array data from raw output to analysis-ready.
- Sat on the Bioinformatics and IT Committee for the South London Genomic Medicine Centre.
- Consulted on NGS pipelines for local NHS Genetics Labs and research groups.
- Consulted across the department on biostatistics, statistical genetics, ML, predictive modelling, and EDA.
